Brighton District Library

FREE

As a Brighton daycare/preschool owner or employee you are eligible  for a free Brighton District library card. This card offers you access to a large collection of materials for and about children. These materials include picture books, beginning readers, a large non-fiction collection, educational computer games and software, early literacy activity kits, and subject based activity bags. We also offer a wide variety of magazines, DVDs including feature films, PBS produced movies, and subject specific films. Added bonuses for daycare providers and nursery school teachers are books on CD with companion books; music for children of all ages; a comprehensive parenting and childcare collection including instructional books about lesson planning, games, crafts and activities; plus our new Books in a Box program.

Each January we host a preschool/daycare open house. This event has been very beneficial to the vendors who participate and to the families who attend. This year we offered specialized training for daycare and preschool employees to assist them in acquiring continuing education units.

Special tours of the Brighton District Library can be arranged by calling the Youth Services Department at (810) 229-6571, ext. 223. As part of the tour, groups are provided with a story time and a make-and-take craft project.

Free programming for children of all ages is provided throughout the year.
