Gardening Fun
This session will give the children the opportunity to explore the world of gardening. Come and prepare the soil, plant vegetable and flower seeds, learn about garden insects and take nature walks. Everything planted during this session will be maintained throughout the summer and then harvested in the fall.
Human Body and Sports Skills
Come and learn about our bodies! Why do we breathe? How do our muscles work? Why is it important to move and exercise? Children in this session will also learn basic sports skills to keep their bodies happy and healthy.
Literature and the Young Child
Eric Carle, Bill Martin, Margaret Brown, Patricia Polacco, and Ezra Jack Keats are just some of the authors that will be explored during this session. The children will be making crafts and art projects based on different picture books. The parts of a book and the roles of authors and illustrators will be presented. Children in this session will become published authors as they write and illustrate their very own book!
Spanish Exploration
Come and learn about the people, food and cultures of the countries where Spanish is spoken. Children will speak Spanish as well as make crafts, taste food, and listen to music. Prepare to take a trip around the world to learn about Spanish speaking countries.
Animals of the Forest
Climb a tree and who do you see? The children in this session will learn about the animals that make their home in the forest. What do these animals eat? What do their footprints look like? Who sleeps during the day and is awake at night? Come and discover the wildlife found in Michigan forests!
Yoga and Suzuki Violin and/or Piano Lessons will also be offered throughout the summer.
