Open year round, The Potter Park Zoological Gardens is a 20-acre zoo located in the capital city of Lansing, Michigan within Lansing's Potter Park. The zoo is home to over 100 species of animals, many of which are threatened or endangered, including Amur Tigers, African Lions, Red Pandas, Bali Minah Birds, Snow Leopards, Tamarin Monkeys, Bongos, Penguins and more. Along the banks of the Red Cedar River, Potter Park Zoo is surrounded by majestic oak trees and a beautifully landscaped environment creating the perfect atmosphere for animals and visitors.

The new “Wings from Down Under” interactive aviary is now open to the public. The exhibit is a free-flight, interactive aviary featuring hundreds of colorful Grass Parakeets, Cockatiels, and Eastern Rosellas that fly freely about the aviary and can perch on zoo visitors’ arms, head and shoulders. Guests can get even closer to the birds by purchasing $1 seed sticks to feed the birds. The exhibit is open through Labor Day. Zoovenir shop, concessions, picnic areas and pony and camel rides (in season) are also available.

The zoo is open daily year-round, summer hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please visit the web site for more information on upcoming events and educational programming.
